Building Movement in Detroit
Advocating for justice in Detroit
In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Linda Campbell, one of Building Movement Project’s founding members, worked with service providers that struggled with shrinking budgets and increasing needs in her hometown of Detroit.
Since then, the work in Detroit has changed to take on a community organizing approach. Through the Detroit People’s Platform, Linda and Building Movement Project advocate around issues of land, food, transit, jobs, governance, poverty and inequality to ensure a just future for all Detroiters.
