In our newest report, At the Crossroads: The Future of the LGBT Movement, the Building Movement Project explores how local, state and national policy advocates and organizers see the future of the LGBT movement. Based on interviews and an in-depth survey, the report finds that while leaders from LGBT organizing, policy and advocacy organizations recognize the important gains and momentum made in the struggle for same-sex marriage equality, they also see the focus on marriage as a double-edged sword. Many movement leaders want the LGBT movement to expand to include the full spectrum of issues that prevent LGBT people from obtaining full equality and fairness in all parts of their lives.
