Two months ago we launched our Stories from the Field series with a case study about developing board readiness for advocacy. This month’s submission takes us to the state of Illinois where a newly formed state-wide coalition is working together in unprecedented ways. Taking on new contracting regulations from the state, Illinois Partners for Human Service, took a savvy approach to building voice, power, and relationships among service providers and associations. Through their story, Whatever it Takes: Building Solidarity Across Silos, they share valuable lessons about what it means to create solidarity across boundaries.
If you’ve got a story to share about how your organization is working to incorporate advocacy, organizing or civic engagement into your service work, we’d love to feature you! Email Caitlin Endyke at [email protected] to express your interest.
