The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services’ (ACCESS) project – the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC) – came together for the first annual Arab American Advocacy Week in Washington, D.C. on April 22-24. This historic event brought together Arab American organizations from around the country to present and exchange dialogue on current issues and concerns, and allowed government officials to learn more about the important work being done by these organizations. Topics included immigration reform, racial profiling, and the importance of national service programs.
Based in Michigan, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in America, and after 35 years of service the organization is now in seven locations and sponsors 90 programs nationwide.
