Solidarity Semester: Spring 2021
April 21, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeThe Solidarity Semester is a free, five-week online training school for emerging youth leaders (aged 18-25) across the country who are ready to take action for social change and are looking for ways to get involved on campus, online, and in your communities.
With extreme weather events, the rise of anti-Asian violence, deportations of Black migrants, and economic turmoil happening as we continue to navigate the impact of COVID-19, we are experiencing a crisis within a crisis. By building community, sharing resources, knowledge, and experiences, we can find our place within social change movements and shift from feeling overwhelmed to feeling held and supported in stepping into solidarity-based activism.
The Solidarity Semester will be an opportunity for young people – whether newly engaged or experienced activists – to learn about solidarity principles, social change roles, and current social justice campaigns.
The Solidarity Semester will kick off on March 24th and end on April 21st. Our sessions will occur on Wednesdays between 5-6 ET/2-3 PT. These sessions will be broadcast on YouTube and focus on solidarity principles, feature examples of campaigns, and provide calls to action.
Our Study Break sessions held every week on Zoom will be an opportunity to connect with other youth leaders and build a community of practice.
