Kyra (they/them) has been involved in community work of Black liberation since 2025. Based in the Midwest, Kyra seeks to uplift the often hidden stories of Black folks and people of color in the region. Kyra’s communications work started through their community organizing work, inspired by the question often asked in community spaces ‘What is your role?’ Kyra sees their role as a storyteller, amplifying individual and collective stories as we work towards liberation.
Outside of work, Kyra is an artist with a focus on designing and sewing clothing. Their practice is a culmination of all things of interest to them: Blackness, streetwear, and people (of all genders) feeling comfortable in what they wear. Art is an extension of their storytelling.
