Equipping nonprofits to advance social change

Stories from the Field: Building Solidarity Across Silos

Two months ago we launched our Stories from the Field series with a case study about developing board readiness for advocacy.  This month’s submission takes us to the state of Illinois where a newly formed state-wide coalition is working together in unprecedented ways. Taking on new contracting regulations from the state, Illinois Partners for Human Service, took a savvy approach to building voice, power, and relationships among service providers and associations.  Through their story, Whatever it Takes: Building Solidarity Across Silos, they share valuable lessons about what it means to create solidarity across boundaries.

If you’ve got a story to share about how your organization is working to incorporate advocacy, organizing or civic engagement into your service work, we’d love to feature you!  Email Caitlin Endyke at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to express your interest.
